A Sketchbook Favorite

So, for the last little while whenever someone has commandeered my sketchbook to look through it they have stopped on this one page with a lot of muck and little sketch of an owl on it. They inevitably squeal “that’s so cute!!” and move on. Apparently I wasn’t aware of the extreme cute factor that my little friend had when I created him.

Point being, I thought that, with that much of a response, I’d better post it. I wanted to clean him up a bit, and I’ve always pictured it in color so…

The Middle Ages

I find middle aged people very hard to draw from ones head, especially when it’s an older version of a character that you usually work with when they’re younger. The changes are so subtle. Point being, I decided to practice. Thus far, thus good, so I guess I’ll just keep at it. :)

So, this is a sort of an experiment I did a while ago to test my knowledge of the planes of the face and whatever, which is why there’s no hair and the eyes are blank, which all together ended up making it kind of creepy. In a kind of cool way.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why I decided to do the eyebrows, though.

We cannot even fathom how blessed we are. This world created for us is so beautiful, so much so, that when the snow flies each crystal is a little God-made piece of unique art. Sometimes I wish and wonder how I am to take it all in. And that is in the bleakest time of year. It couldn't be anymore beautiful.
